Food Story #1: NudeFood, Muffin Photos, Love

Hello and welcome to Flash In The Pan! A new anomaly of a food blog, where we’ll be doing all sorts of crazy stuff with food. Not that crazy. Keep your apron on folks.

I’d like begin by asking you to go ahead and disregard that last post on this blog. I just happened to take over this domain and that post came along with it.  C’est la vie. My name is Corinne, and I’m not in the business of dissecting the bible or telling anyone how to interpret any kind of religious text. I’m more in the business of talking about food, making food, taking pictures of food and (should I say food one more time?) writing stories about food (there you go). I’m not sure what corner of my mind came up with the idea that I should combine all of those things and put them in one blog, but here we are. And while we’re here, I’d like to share some things with you!

NudeFood

I just discovered this stuff today, and boy howdy, am I glad I did. The folks at Crystal River Organics make these amazing raw organic bars that are gluten free, non GMO, vegan, soy-free, and dairy free. They’ll also leave a lot of free space in your backpack when you start hiking and camping this spring. There also great as a small meal if you’re up to your neck applying for high school scholarships or writing your first novel. Since they’re nutrient dense, these little suckers pack a bunch of protein, fiber and carbohydrates all into one bar. That’s awesome and everything, but they’re so tasty that it takes a lot of will power not to eat them like candy bars. Beware, there’s a lot of food in there. If you don’t happen to be fortunate enough to live in the Denver area, they’ve got free shipping right now, and %15 off three cases. I’d suggest you stock up for the summer.

I made these gluten free banana and apple buckwheat muffins this morning, and they were an experiment that turned out splendidly. I’ll post the recipe on my healthy recipe blog when I have time, but I’ll let you check these out and drool until that happens.

… all in a hard morning’s work.

Love

As soon as I wrote the title of this post, I started feeling the love for this brand new baby blog. So I’d like to share that love. Add this blog to your RSS feed or check back so that you can receive all of the love that’s headed your way.

Do you have any food stories to share?

Introduction 01

The Bible is either the true history of the Lord and His people, or it is not and is the biggest hoax ever perpetuated on mankind. If it was written by God, or men inspired by God, it is true. Why? Because those who know God also know that He cannot lie.

The Author
Hello! I am a Pentecostal born-again Christian and have been “saved” for over three decades. This website is meant to challenge “Common Myths About The Bible.” My church is the mother church of over 1700 churches all over the world in over 100 countries. And each is completely dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through giving as many people as possible the opportunity to repent from their sins and make Heaven their home for eternity.

The “Common Myths About The Bible”
These are many and varied. However, one of the most common is, “The Bible is man’s creation.” Yet, the Bible continues to be printed in more copies than any other book in history. Another is, “Adam and Eve were fictitious characters.” Yet, the alternative is to believe that mankind evolved from apes or other creatures. A third is, “Biblical miracles, such as the parting of the Red Sea and many others, never happened.” Yet, the historical and archeological evidence that this (and others) did happen are overwhelming. And a forth, and in my view the most outrageous and blasphemous of all, is that “Jesus Christ was just a man, not God.” Yet there is more evidence that He was born of a virgin, lived, taught, was crucified and killed, and then rose from the dead, than there is evidence that Christopher Columbus discovered America! This is the analogy espoused by Josh McDowell in his book, Evidence That Demands A Verdict.

These are only a few of the “Common Myths About The Bible” to be addressed on this website.

The Purpose
However, the purpose of this website is not only to dispel these myths, not only to get people thinking and asking questions, and not only to question their own belief system when it is not consistent with the Bible. Ultimately, the purpose is to lead people to the saving knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is a decision every person should be given the opportunity to make. And spreading the Gospel, and allowing people that opportunity, is called the “Great Commission” in Mathew chapter 28, verses16 to 20. However, it is also found in several other scriptures: Mark 16: 15-18; Luke 24: 44-49; and John 20: 19-23.

Quite literally, there is no greater message that can be given from one human being to another. Whether the other person takes the opportunity or not misses the point, which is to give the opportunity to everyone. Then, it is up to them and the Lord. No man or woman can or should interfere with that decision. For every person has their own free will – to believe in myths or believe in the Bible. God will not violate anyone’s free will. A wise man once said, “A person convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” (source unknown) Man cannot convince man, even with a Ph.D. in psychology; but it is God, and God alone, who ultimately draws a person to Christ. (John 6:44)
